Guyana: Police Vexed In Attack's Wake; [Brief]

Full Text (107  words)

Security officials say they are not holding the woman whose disappearance may have prompted an attack on a coastal village in which 11 people, 5 of them children, were killed on Saturday. Security officials said they thought that Rondell Rawlins, a reputed gang leader, organized the attack and that he did so because he believed the police hold his pregnant 18-year-old girlfriend, Tenisha Morgan, who was last seen Jan. 18 after collapsing at a bus stop. The officials issued a statement late Sunday insisting that no police, military or security agency is holding Ms. Morgan. Persons who wish to suggest such are being extremely mischievous, it said.
