CLAIRE'S STORES Inc. (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) -- This specialty retailer appointed J. Per Brodin senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately. Mr. Brodin, 45, succeeds Ira Kaplan, who left to spend more time with his family, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Kaplan couldn't be reached to comment. Mr. Brodin was senior vice president, chief accounting officer and chief financial officer at Centene Corp.

RED LION HOTELS Corp. (Spokane, Wash.) -- This hospitality and leisure company named Anupam Narayan president, chief executive and a director, effective immediately. Mr. Narayan, 54, succeeds Arthur M. Coffey, 52, who is retiring. Mr. Narayan was executive vice president and chief financial officer. Those posts will remain vacant while the company searches for a successor, a spokeswoman said. The board stays at seven.
