Transcontinental Media: Halifax Newspaper To Cease Publication

Transcontinental Media will cease publication of the Daily News of Halifax, effective immediately, but said it will launch Metro, a free daily newspaper in partnership with Metro International SA and Torstar Corp., a Canadian media company. The first Metro edition in Halifax, Nova Scotia, will be published Thursday. The company said the Daily News had a circulation of about 20,000 copies.
