Your editorial "Obama and the Gipper" (Jan. 19) is a fascinating analysis of Sen. Barack Obama's thinking and many Democrats' reaction.

Does anyone remember the Reagan Democrats and how important they were to Reagan's success? Is it possible that Mr. Obama was thinking about that, and that he sees Obama Republicans as part of his coalition?

Mr. Obama may have heard that "It's amazing how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit for it."
