The front-page article "In Tiny Malta, Hunters Cry Foul in EU Bird Dispute" (Jan. 18) emphasizes the primitive "kill everything" approach of many Maltese hunters. That Malta is such an avowedly Catholic country, worshiping the Creator while annihilating every flying thing he created, is a spiritual anomaly, to say the least. But that this can exist in modern Europe is an outrage.
