McDonald's Taps Alvarez for Board
McDonald's Corp. named President and Chief Operating Officer Ralph Alvarez to its board.
The Oak Brook, Ill., fast-food retail giant said Mr. Alvarez, 52 years old, will succeed Edward Brennan. Mr. Brennan, former chairman and chief executive of Sears, Roebuck & Co., now a subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corp., died last month.
Mr. Alvarez was named to his current position in 2006 after serving as president of McDonald's North America and, prior to that, as president of McDonald's USA. He is also a member of the board of KeyCorp.
"Ralph's unique business perspectives and his in-depth knowledge of the global restaurant industry make him a highly valued addition to McDonald's Board of Directors," said Chairman Andrew McKenna. "He has an outstanding track record of results that will further enhance the effectiveness of the Board."
