Floyd Stoner, chief lobbyist of the American Bankers Association, commenting on bankruptcy legislation discussed in a Politics & Economics article yesterday, said: "But where are we as a society if we say -- 'You signed contracts, and if you can afford to repay, you just don't have to'?" The article incorrectly quoted Mr. Stoner as saying, "But where are we as a society if we say -- 'You signed contracts, and if you can't afford to repay, you just don't have to?'"

Howard Schwab became a co-manager of the Driehaus Emerging Markets Growth Fund in August 2007, and became its lead manager at the start of this year. An article Wednesday about fund managers' investing strategies incorrectly implied that he was the lead manager of the fund last year.

Bear Stearns Cos. is investing $1 billion in Citic Securities Co. in the form of a six-year convertible bond as part of a proposed joint venture, while Citic will invest $1 billion in Bear Stearns in the form of a 40-year trust preferred security. A Money & Investing article Wednesday about government investment funds, as well as some previous articles, incorrectly said that Bear's investment in Citic will take place over a longer time frame than Citic's investment in Bear.

Via Technologies Inc. reported 2007 sales of $452.8 million. An article yesterday incorrectly reported the sales figure as $452,788.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is located in Teton County, Wyo. A pointer on a map accompanying a page-one article Saturday about wealthy people descending on rural areas incorrectly placed Teton County in Idaho.

Microsoft Corp. announced Windows 1.0 in 1983 but didn't release the product until 1985. A Dec. 29 graphic accompanying a page-one article about the state of newspapers gave the date of the product simply as 1983.
