Get a Charge on the Go
-- Problem: Your mobile device runs out of power while on the road.
-- Solution: Carry a lightweight charger that works without electrical outlets, like Duracell's PowerSource Mobile100 ($99 at Amazon), which can extend the runtime of a laptop by two hours and give you about 18 hours of talk time on a cellphone. It weighs one pound and has an AC outlet (for charging devices with AC plugs, like a laptop) and two USB ports (for charging USB-dependent devices) so you can charge multiple devices at once. Energi to Go, by Energizer, is a line of battery-powered chargers that work with cellphones and iPods (from $19.99 to $29.99, at various retailers). Cellboost (cellboost.com; about $8 at various retailers) is a one-time-use phone charger that provides about 60 minutes of talk time -- pick a model compatible with your cellphone. Look for new charging stations at major airports like New York's John F. Kennedy International, Los Angeles International and Dallas-Fort Worth International, which have outlets, USB charging ports and even Ethernet plugs for a free Internet connection. Other airports -- like Florida's Jacksonville International, Minneapolis-St. Paul and New York's La Guardia -- have kiosks where you can swipe a credit card to charge electronics or access the Internet.
