NTT DoCoMo Inc.: Failure to Get License Ends Venture With Acca

NTT DoCoMo Inc. and Acca Networks Co. said they disbanded a wireless joint venture after failing to obtain a government license to operate mobile Internet services in Japan. The companies in August formed a joint venture to bid for one of two licenses granted by the government last year to use newly allotted wireless bandwidth for such services. DoCoMo is Japan's largest mobile operator by subscribers and had hoped to use a license to bolster its traditional mobile-phone operations.
