BAE Systems PLC: Tenix Deal Will Double Presence in Australia

United Kingdom defense and aerospace company BAE Systems PLC agreed to buy Australian defense and technology contractor Tenix Pty. Ltd. for as much as 775 million Australian dollars (US$668 million). The sale is expected to be finalized in the first half of the year, Tenix said. The planned sale of Tenix's infrastructure business continues. The acquisition more than doubles BAE Systems' presence in Australia, making it the largest in-country defense supplier to the Australian Defence Force.
