O'Neal Named to Alcoa's Board
Full Text (101 words)
Former Merrill Lynch & Co. Chief Executive Stan O'Neal, one of the highest profile casualties of the credit crisis, yesterday was named a director of Alcoa Inc.
The move came a day after Merrill Lynch reported a $9.8 billion loss for the fourth quarter, the worst in the firm's 94-year history and racked up during Mr. O'Neal's tenure. Mr. O'Neal resigned from Merrill in October following a third-quarter net loss of $2.2 billion and $8.4 billion in write-downs.
Alcoa, of Pittsburgh, also named American Electric Power Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Michael G. Morris a director.
Both appointments are effective immediately.
