Merck, Plaintiffs Discuss
Progress in Deal on Vioxx
Attorneys for Merck and Vioxx plaintiffs will give a status report in court and may discuss a controversial aspect of the $4.85 billion settlement that requires attorneys to recommend the deal to all or none of their Vioxx clients. Merck is confident enough plaintiffs will sign on to seal the deal.
GE Expected to Post a Rise;
Leading Indicators to Fall
General Electric's results will illuminate how much companies can rely on overseas growth to offset U.S. weakness. CEO Jeffrey Immelt said in October the year's final quarter would be a "boomer."
