Money-Fund Assets Increased in Week
NEW YORK -- Money-market mutual-fund assets increased by $13.55 billion to $3.189 trillion for the week ended Wednesday, up from an adjusted $3.165 trillion, according to the Investment Company Institute.
Assets of the 846 retail-class shares increased by $11.84 billion to $1.184 trillion, the institute said. Among retail-class shares, assets of the 547 taxable shares increased by $10.73 billion to $893.79 billion, and assets of the 299 tax-exempt shares increased by $1.11 billion to $290.47 billion.
Assets of the 1,171 institutional-class shares increased by $1.72 billion to $2.005 trillion. Among institutional-class shares, assets of the 907 taxable shares increased by $2.47 billion to $1.823 trillion, and assets of the 264 tax-exempt shares decreased by $756 million to $182.18 billion.
