Statoil Eyes Rennemo for Chairman
Norwegian state-controlled oil and gas company StatoilHydro ASA nominated Svein Rennemo to be its chairman.
Mr. Rennemo, who has been chief executive of seismic-survey company Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since 2002, will succeed acting Chairman Marit Arnstad if shareholders back the nomination at a Jan. 30 extraordinary general meeting, StatoilHydro said. If elected, Mr. Rennemo, 60 years old, will join the StatoilHydro board after he leaves his position at PGS on April 1.
Mr. Rennemo was a Statoil employee from 1982 to 1994, and his positions included senior vice president for financial affairs and head of the petrochemicals business, StatoilHydro said. Mr. Arnstad will become deputy chairman, StatoilHydro said.
