Priscilla Painton has been named editor-in-chief of CBS Corp.'s Simon & Schuster adult imprint, effective March 3.

She will assume the responsibilities of Michael Korda, the imprint's legendary editor who relinquished his full-time post as editor-in- chief at the end of 2005 and became editor-in-chief emeritus.

Ms. Painton, 49 years old, was most recently deputy managing editor of Time Warner Inc.'s Time magazine. "I hope to keep Simon & Schuster as respected for its work as it has been," she said.
