Allow me to point out that not only does the Navy provide medical corpsmen but also physicians and chaplains to the Marines ("The Weekend Interview with James T. Conway: First to the Fight," Jan. 12). Half of my career was with the Marine Corps -- five tours from Okinawa, first combat troops in Vietnam, San Diego, Camp Pendleton, back to Vietnam, then Cambodia and Swift Boats and back to San Diego -- and I was proud of being accepted as "Marine."
