Samsung Group: Investigators Raid An Office of Chairman

Special prosecutors investigating alleged corruption at Samsung Group searched an office of Chairman Lee Kun-hee, an official said, as part of a probe approved by South Korea's president. Kang Dong-ju, an official with the team carrying out the probe, said eight locations associated with Samsung Group executives were searched. A Samsung spokesman said he couldn't confirm the raids. Samsung, a conglomerate with interests ranging from construction to shipbuilding, is anchored by Samsung Electronics Co. The probe came after a former official at Samsung alleged the firm set up a slush fund for bribes. Samsung denied the allegations.
