ALLIED HEALTHCARE INTERNATIONAL Inc. (New York) -- Alexander Young was named chief executive and a member of the board of this health- care staffing services company. Mr. Young succeeds interim Chief Executive Sarah L. Eames. Ms. Eames, who also steps down as deputy chairman, will continue as executive vice president until April 16. She remains on the board. Mr. Young was managing director of electronic security at Chubb UK, a division of United Technologies Corp.

A.P. PHARMA Inc. (Redwood City, Calif.) -- Michael O'Connell, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, resigned from this specialty pharmaceutical company, effective Jan. 18. Mr. O'Connell, 58 years old, will be succeeded as chief financial officer on an interim basis by President and Chief Executive Gregory Turnbull. Mr. Turnbull, 69, will continue as president and chief executive. The company is conducting an external search for a successor, a company spokesman said.

CIT GROUP Inc. (New York) -- Peter Gaw was named president of this commercial finance company. The position is new. Mr. Gaw, 48, was executive vice president, head of energy and resources Americas, and global head of power and utilities at ABN Amro NV.

GANNETT Co. (McLean, Va.) -- This media company named Chris Saridakis chief digital officer and senior vice president, and Jack Williams president of Gannett Digital Ventures. Both positions are new. Mr. Saridakis, 39, was chief executive of PointRoll Inc., a unit. He will be succeeded by Jason Tafler. Mr. Tafler, 32, was senior vice president of global business operations and strategy for PointRoll. Mr. Williams, 57, was president of Gannett Digital.

MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL Inc. (Bethesda, Md.) -- Jimmie Walton Paschall was named senior vice president of external affairs and global diversity officer. The post is new. Ms. Paschall, 46, who returns to Marriott after eight years, was executive vice president of external affairs at Volunteers of America Inc.

Peter Gaw was named president of CIT Energy, CIT Group Inc.'s energy group. He succeeds Brooks Klimley, who left last year. A Who's News item yesterday incorrectly said that Mr. Gaw was named president of CIT Group and that the position was new.
