Money-Fund Assets Increased in Week
NEW YORK -- Money-market mutual-fund assets increased by $48.69 billion to $3.165 trillion in the week ended Wednesday, up from an adjusted $3.113 trillion, according to the Investment Company Institute.
Assets of the 843 retail-class shares increased by $10.88 billion to $1.172 trillion, the institute said. Among retail-class shares, assets of the 546 taxable shares increased by $4.75 billion to $883.10 billion, and assets of the 297 tax-exempt shares increased by $6.13 billion to $288.58 billion.
Assets of the 1,161 institutional-class shares increased by $37.81 billion to $1.994 trillion. Among institutional-class shares, assets of the 901 taxable shares increased by $35.54 billion to $1.814 trillion, and assets of the 260 tax-exempt shares increased by $2.28 billion to $179.67 billion.
