Blair to Advise J.P. Morgan Chase
Associated Press
LONDON -- Former Prime Minister Tony Blair took a job as an adviser to J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., a part-time post that his spokeswoman said won't affect his role as a Mideast peace envoy.
Mr. Blair will give J.P. Morgan's senior management team "strategic advice and provide insights on global issues," said Ruti Winterstein, the spokeswoman.
The appointment won't infringe on his duties with the so-called quartet of Middle East peacemakers -- the U.S., European Union, United Nations and Russia, she said. Mr. Blair is helping the Palestinians build up their economy and governing bodies in preparation for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Mr. Blair's income for his new job wasn't disclosed.
