To the Editor:

Re Political Animals (Yes, Animals) (Jan. 22): Your story made me reflect on Aristotle's famous quote, Man is by nature a political animal. Did Aristotle, an astute student of zoology who wrote extensively on animal behavior, arrive some 2,300 years ago at the same conclusion cited in your report and thus write the quote by simply comparing human behavior to these animals? One has to wonder!
