In Their Own Words; [Text]

Full Text (215  words)

From remarks Monday at an airport in Fort Myers, Fla.:

If you elect me president, we will remain on offense, and we will win the terrorists' war against us. Win it, not just watch it. Win it.

We'll achieve our goal in Iraq, and our goal is victory in Iraq, not just leaving out of frustration like the Democrats want to do. And we'll make sure that our country is strong, with an even larger Army -- 10 more combat brigades, a larger Marine Corps, a larger Navy and Air Force, Coast Guard, intelligence services. We'll invest in the safety and security of the United States. ...

America is vulnerable at the point of least resistance, and, believe me, these terrorists think that way. So we can't have a point of least resistance. The Department of Homeland Security has to make sure that in all of our communities, the police, the fire, the E.M.S. are ready for whatever might happen. Whatever terrorists might do, whatever nature might do.

And I would be the best to lead that effort, because it comes out of my background and experience. No one running for president has had the kind of experience I've had taking care of the safety and security of other people and getting good results.
