Bronx: D.W.I. Charge In Fatal Crash; [Brief]

A driver lost control of his Honda Accord early Sunday morning on the Major Deegan Expressway, crossing the center line and killing a passenger when the car slammed into a tree, the police said. The driver, Marcelo Uribe, 21, of Sleepy Hollow, was charged with driving while intoxicated and vehicular manslaughter, the police said. The accident occurred near Van Cortlandt Park about 4:20 a.m. A second passenger was in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital on Sunday. The passenger who was killed was not identified Sunday.
