[Illustration]PHOTOS: Richard Fewtrell, left, a shipwright, and Jon Wisch, above, a shipwright captain, work on rebuilding the transom of the 91-foot schooner Quinnipiac, right, in dry dock at Pilots Point Marina in Westbrook. The wood being used in the frame is recycled Southern yellow pine from old factory beams. The ship, whose home berth is at Long Wharf in New Haven, is expected to return to the water next month. It offers educational cruises, beginning in April, and public sailings. (PHOTOGRAPHS BY C.M. GLOVER FOR THE NEW YORK TIMES)
