Joanna Roberts Stern, the daughter of Rabbi Janet Roberts and Dr. Eric Stern of New York, was married on Thursday to Jeremy Devin Loewenberger, the son of Laurie Loewenberger and Marvin Loewenberger of Livingston, N.J. Rabbi Sarah H. Reines performed the ceremony at Central Synagogue in Manhattan.

The bride, 28, is keeping her name. She is completing her doctorate in clinical psychology at the C. W. Post campus of Long Island University. As part of her studies she is an intern at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn. She graduated from Tufts.

Her father is an associate professor of medicine and a director of the cardiology fellowship training program at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Until June, her mother was the director of congregational relations at Central Synagogue.

The bridegroom, 31, is an associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel, a New York law firm. He graduated from Rutgers and received a law degree from St. John's University.

His mother is an information services receptionist at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. His father is a certified public accountant at Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company, in New York.
