Denise Karbon of Italy, skiing with a broken left thumb, won a giant slalom World Cup race in Ofterschwang, Germany.Karbon won her fifth giant slalom race of the season with a combined time of 2:22.26 to increase her lead in the standings. Nicole Hosp of Austria, the overall World Cup leader, was second, 0.08 behind.
