The champion jockey Kieren Fallon was barred for 18 months after a second positive test for an unidentified banned substance. Fallon, from Ireland, appealed the ruling by the governing body of thoroughbred and steeplechase racing in France. He can race in France until his appeal is heard. Fallon, 42, tested positive for cocaine Aug. 19 in Deauville after riding Myboycharlie. He served a ban from December 2006 to June 2007 after testing positive for cocaine while riding in France.
