Getting Ships In Shape; [Brief]

Full Text (105  words)

The Heritage Lottery Fund awarded grants toward the preservation of two historic British ships, the Mary Rose and the Cutty Sark, Agence France-Presse reported. The fund awarded $:10 million ($19.7 million) for extensive restoration to the Cutty Sark, a tea clipper shown above in a computer image, after it was gutted by fire last May. And $:21 million ($41.4 million) went to the Mary Rose, King Henry VIII's flagship, which sank in 1545 and was raised in 1982. The money is to pay for a museum in the dockyards at Portsmouth, England, that will house the Mary Rose and the artifacts found with it.
