Turner Classic Movies devotes the evening to comedy westerns, starting with this Bob Hope vehicle about a bumbling insurance agent who finds himself in a pickle when people start mistaking him for Jesse James (Wendell Corey). In Support Your Local Sheriff! (1969), at 9:45, James Garner plays a con man who winds up in law enforcement, and at 11:30 Mr. Garner is a runaway groom turned hired gun, alongside Suzanne Pleshette, in Support Your Local Gunfighter. The mayhem ends with The Law West of Tombstone (1938), about a cowardly judge (Harry Carey) who enlists the help of a hot young gunslinger (Tim Holt) to take out local outlaws.
9 P.M.
