The View From Eli Lilly; [Letter]
To the Editor:
On Jan. 17, The New York Times published an article based on a study in The New England Journal of Medicine, implying that Eli Lilly and Company suppressed negative clinical trial data for its antidepressants (Researchers Find Bias in Drug Trial Reporting).
We strongly object to the implications of this article and believe that it has likely left a false impression of Lilly with your readers.
Lilly is committed to full transparency of clinical trial data and is an industry leader in this area. It is our policy to publicly disclose clinical research results whether favorable or unfavorable to a Lilly-marketed product in an accurate, objective and balanced manner.
