Full Text (276 words)GROSS--Ralphine, beloved aunt of Sue Livornese and cherished cousin of Amy, Jo, Richard, and Steven Kremer and their families, died at age 98 on January 18th, 2008. Ralphine lived her life with wisdom, grace, creativity, loving kindness, and dignity. As a life-long educator, sculptor, and poet, Ralphine deeply touched the lives of many. For three decades, Ralphine was an assistant principal and then principal at PS108 in Manhattan. After her retirement, Ralphine volunteered very actively for thirty years. She was an advocate for parents and children in the NYC juvenile courts. She later developed an expressive writing course for Mt. Sinai employees. Most recently, she coordinated a one-to-one ESL program for physicians. Ralphine was and continues to be a source of profound joy, inspiration, and admiration for her family, friends, and colleagues. Services: January 25th at 2pm, Riverside Chapel on Amsterdam Ave. at 76th St. Contributions may be sent to the Children's Defense Fund or the United Jewish Appeal Federation of NY.
GROSS--Ralphine K., passed away on Friday, January 18th, 2008 at the age of 98. She was our mother's best friend for 85 years and we were lucky to have known her all our lives. She was an extraordinarily positive person -seeing the best in everyone she knew. She was a teacher, a principal, a talented sculptor, a poet. Those who knew her could feel the enthusiasm she had for just about everything and everyone she encountered. She enjoyed a long, full, active life filled with relatives and friends who loved her.
