GlaxoSmithKline PLC acquired rights to early-stage drug research from Amira Pharmaceuticals in a deal that could earn the U.S. biotech company as much as $425 million. The companies said United Kingdom- based Glaxo will have world-wide exclusive rights to develop and commercialize Amira's experimental compounds for treatment of respiratory and cardiovascular disease.
