Airbus: Jet Makes Test Flight With Alternative Fuel

An Airbus A380 Friday became the first commercial jet aircraft to use alternative fuel, a milestone on the road to biofuels. The superjumbo took off on a test flight, powered on a blend of regular fuel and liquid fuel processed from natural gas. Airbus, a unit of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co., hopes the plane will become the centerpiece of efforts to develop the next generation of cleaner fuel.
