Newell Rubbermaid Inc. posted a 3.1% rise in fourth-quarter net income but the Atlanta consumer-products company trimmed its 2008 sales forecast, saying it doesn't expect the North American economic picture to improve this year. It now expects full-year sales growth of 2% to 3%, from 3% to 5%. But because of margin gains, it stuck to its earnings outlook.
