ARQULE Inc. (Woburn, Mass.) -- This biotechnology company gave Peter S. Lawrence operational responsibility for leadership of the company, effective April 1. Mr. Lawrence, 44 years old, succeeds Stephen A. Hill. Dr. Hill, 49, has left the company to become president and chief executive officer of Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. A search for a permanent operating chief is continuing, a spokesman said.

(Boulder, Colo.) -- This provider of analytical instrumentation solutions named Bob Faus vice president, engineering, and Tom Brown vice president, sales and channel management, effective immediately. Both posts are new. Mr. Faus, 48, was director of engineering. That post will be eliminated, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Brown, 55, was director of sales and marketing. NEWS CORP. (New York) -- Amit Kapur was named chief operating officer of MySpace.com, a subsidiary of Fox Interactive Media Inc., a division of this media company. Mr. Kapur, 26, succeeds Josh Berman, who is leaving to take a new position, which the company didn't disclose. Mr. Berman declined to comment. Mr. Kapur was business developer. News Corp. also owns Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal.
