Investor AB: Fourth-Quarter Loss Due to Turbulent Markets
Full Text (96 words)
Investor AB, the main investment vehicle of Sweden's Wallenberg family, posted a net loss in the fourth quarter because of the turbulent financial markets. Chief Executive Boerje Ekholm told a news conference he expects the market uncertainty to last "several months, possibly longer," and Investor is concerned about the U.S. economy. Investor reported a fourth-quarter net loss of 19.24 billion Swedish kronor ($2.93 billion), compared with net profit of 10.57 billion kronor a year earlier, reflecting the lower value of its holdings. Revenue at the Nordic region's largest investment company fell 41% to 115 million kronor.
