DUKE ENERGY Corp. (Charlotte, N.C.) -- Dhiaa M. Jamil was named group executive and chief nuclear officer for this electric power company, effective Feb. 17. Mr. Jamil, 51, will succeed Henry B. Barron. Mr. Barron, 57, is retiring, effective March 31. Mr. Jamil is senior vice president of nuclear support.

WAL-MART STORES Inc (Bentonville, Ark.) -- Vice Chairman John Menzer is retiring from this retailer, effective March 1. Mr. Menzer, 56, won't have a successor, with his duties being absorbed by other executives. Mr. Menzer joined the company in 1995 as chief financial officer and led the international division, 1999-2005.
