AmComp Inc.: Employers Holdings To Acquire Insurer

AmComp Inc., a North Palm Beach, Fla., property and casualty insurer, agreed to be acquired by Employers Holdings Inc., a workers- compensation insurer, for $12.50 a share, or $194 million. The board of AmComp approved the deal with Employers Holdings, which is based in Reno, Nev. The acquisition is expected to close by the second quarter. The agreement carries an $8 million termination fee, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
