Berkshire Hathaway Inc.: Firm Adopts New Policy For Holders' Suggestions
Full Text (107 words)
Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the investment vehicle for investor Warren Buffett, said it will adopt a formal policy to consider recommendations presented by shareholders. The company's decision to adopt a formal process stemmed from a question raised by the Securities and Exchange Commission in August. The SEC wanted to know why the company didn't have a formal policy by which shareholders can recommend director candidates, as required by an SEC rule. In its response in September, the company said it didn't interpret the rule to require a policy, and that it will update the information to include it when it files its proxy for the 2008 shareholder meeting.
