COACH In Ghana, the coach of Senegal's national team, Henryk Kasperczak, 61, of Poland, announced his resignation Monday, a day after his team was upset, 3-1, by Angola in the African Cup of Nations. Senegal must win its final first-round game, Thursday against South Africa, by a wide margin to have a chance to advance.

TEAM In England, the marquee matchup in the Round of 16 of the F.A. Cup, to be played Feb. 16 or 17 at Old Trafford, will be between Manchester United and Arsenal. United has won the tournament a record 11 times; Arsenal has won it 10 times. They are tied atop the Premier League, but United leads on goal differential (35-29).
