The Absinthe Drinker

Full Text (255  words)

DANIEL JACKSON, 33, an owner of the men's wear/

curiosity shop BBlessing and a founder of the design group Surface to Air.

TODAY'S OUTFIT I bought the scarf at a market in Marrakesh. The jeans are A.P.C. The shirt is BBlessing. The boots are from a British line called You Must Create. The pinkie ring I had made on Canal Street. It has my fiancee's name on it. That's my next big project: designing our wedding bands.

STYLE CREDO I care about the quality of clothing, the fabric, the details. I think people overlook that. They get too excited about shopping at H & M.

FAVORITE STORES I'm a huge fan of hardware stores. I love the scents and textures, and they're a cheap resource for creative supplies. I often go to HomeFront Hardware on 29th Street. It's open 24 hours. I also really like the PowerHouse Arena in Dumbo. It's a massive bookstore and gallery space.

NEXT BIG PURCHASE A honeymoon to the Maldives or the Philippines.

ON THE STEREO Muslimgauze's Box of Silk and Dogs, Scott Walker and the Walker Brothers, the Chambers Brothers and my old Fugazi albums.

ON THE AGENDA I'm working on something for Marc Jacobs's next collection, which I can't really discuss. We also just designed an absinthe set -- the spoons, the fountain, everything needed to distill it. I don't want to advertise free absinthe, but we serve it in the store around 4 or 5 every afternoon.
