Rachel Joanna Berkowitz and O'Donnell Lee were married on Saturday evening at 583 Park Avenue, an events space at the Third Church of Christ, Scientist, in New York. The Rev. Dr. Melvin Hawthorne, an ecumenical minister, officiated.

The bride, 30, is a professional organizer in New York who helps individuals and businesses to organize closets, filing systems and offices and to move and pack. She graduated from Trinity College in Hartford.

She is the daughter of Joan Ames Berkowitz and Asa J. Berkowitz of Guilford, Conn. Her father is the managing director in New York of an American subsidiary of Cotia, a Brazilian import-export company. The subsidiary is primarily involved in steel. Her mother is a consultant to small businesses and nonprofit organizations in Connecticut, helping them with services like bookkeeping, desktop publishing and editing.

The bride is a granddaughter of the late George J. Ames, an investment banker at Lazard Freres & Company in New York who aided Andre Meyer in the firm's success in this country. The bride's maternal grandmother, the late Marion P. Ames, was a leading advocate for court reform in New York State.

The bridegroom, 31, works for the Rose Group Park Avenue, a caterer, as a banquet manager at 583 Park Avenue. He graduated from the University of Maryland and received a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from Spalding University in Louisville, Ky.

He is the son of Jean Gibb Lee and Philip O'Donnell Lee of Gulf Stream, Fla. His father, who is retired, was a trainer at Belmont, Aqueduct and Saratoga racetracks.

The bridegroom is a descendant of Allan Pinkerton, the founder of the Pinkerton detective agency.
