Italy: Fiat's Profit Increases 26%; [Brief]

Fiat, one of Italy's largest manufacturers, said its fourth-quarter profit rose 26 percent as it increased its share of the European car market and sold more trucks and tractors. Net income rose to 570 million euros ($833 million) from 452 million euros a year earlier, Fiat said. Fiat, based in Turin, Italy, raised its 2008 sales forecast to 60 billion euros from 58.5 billion euros in 2007.
